An Introduction to SSIP Certification
These days, many principal contractors or clients are insisting that a contractor working with them shows commitment to health and safety by having an independent body assess their systems. Sometimes this achieved is by their own processes but often having an SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement) certificate from a qualifying body (such as CHAS, SafeContractor or Acclaim) means a lot of time and money can be saved proving the same thing over and over again.
This certification verifies that you have systems that meet the legal requirements of health and safety legislation without needing to be assessed by different schemes.
It is basically one application that will give you a stamp of approval which is often necessary when securing new work or contracts.
An Introduction to SSIP Certification Course Content
- In the first section we take a look at what SSIP is, who their members are, choosing a scheme and the core criteria for certification.
- In the final section we cover the best way to prepare and apply for certification and we take a look at the SSIP portal, how it works, and the benefits.
Test & Certificate
There will be one or two questions in between sections which are designed to reinforce learning and ensure maximum engagement but do not count towards the final test. This test usually has around 20 multiple choice questions and when passed, a printable certificate can be downloaded.
