Neurodiversity Awareness

Neurodiversity is one of those ‘new’ expressions that many people do not know but it refers to the many conditions such as ADSD, Autism, Brain Injury etc. However, whilst someone may have such a condition, it does not mean that they are not of value as many people have exceptional skills which could be missed if someone has a either little knowledge of, or a prejudice towards, a neurodivergent person. This course will help learners understand more about what the expression means and how to treat people with such a condition.

Neurodiversity Awareness Course Content

1. We define what the various types of neurodiversity are, what it means to be an individual with a condition and we explore some of the misconceptions, stigma and lack of support that exist.

2. This section focuses on several different types of neurodivergence that exist within our communities

3. Web give you very useful tips on understanding and being more aware of individuals with a condition and two models that will allow you to give better support and also the legal situation when employing a person with a condition.

Test & Certificate

There will be one or two questions in between sections which are designed to reinforce learning and ensure maximum engagement but do not count towards the final test. This test usually has around 20 multiple choice questions and when passed, a printable certificate can be downloaded.
