Keeping Children Safe Online
Duration 30 minutes
If you are a parent or guardian or if you work with children and young people, you probably know about the dangers of the internet and you therefore have a responsibility to do all that you can to keep them safe from online dangers.
Whilst, there is the Online Safety Act, a piece of legislation that aims to make online platforms – like social media – safer for young people to use but whilst this act creates a duty of care for online platforms to take action against illegal or harmful content, it is not a complete solution to the problems.
So, for you to be able to do so, you need to know what sort of threats there are out there and what you can do to remove or reduce them.
