Dust Awareness

Dust is a hazard to health under COSHH and the course is designed to help people recognise the dangers of inhaling dust and what they can do to minimise the risk. Many people fail to appreciate that they are working in an atmosphere where dust is present and so we cover the possible types of dust, health hazards and controls.

Course Content

1. This covers what dust is, the different types and how it might be created.

2. This section takes a look at the health hazards it poses to those exposed to dust.

3. This sets out the employer’s and employee’s responsibilities and what controls can be implemented to reduce the risk of ill health through dust.

Test & Certificate

There will be one or two questions in between sections which are designed to reinforce learning and ensure maximum engagement but do not count towards the final test. This test usually has around 20 multiple choice questions and when passed, a printable certificate can be downloaded.
