Hot Works (Text Based Course)

Duration: 15 minutes

Hot works are any activity or process that generates, or may generate flame, heat, or an incendiary spark and which presents a foreseeable risk of fire, or explosion through a source of ignition by means of tools or equipment.

There are many kinds of industrial, maintenance and construction projects that involve hot work and a large proportion of fires in commercial and industrial premises are caused by hot works being used and so it is essential that anyone who is likely to use any hot works, is properly trained.

Hot Works Course Content

1. This section of this text-based course looks at what hot works are, the hazards associated with it and the employer & employee’s responsibilities.
2. We cover the control measures that should be in place for hot work to be completed safely.

Test & Certificate

There will be one or two questions in between sections which are designed to reinforce learning and ensure maximum engagement but do not count towards the final test. This test usually has around 20 multiple choice questions and when passed, a printable certificate can be downloaded.
