This Standard touches on the legislation, policies & responsibilities relating to Health & Safety in the Care sector, as well as looking at accidents and sudden illnesses

You will learn about and work towards compliance with The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations and RIDDOR by understanding how staff and Health & Safety policies are agreed with your employer

Health & Safety in Care Course Content

1. The Law & Responsibilities

The Law on health and safety is complex but important as they govern every aspect of our working lives and we rely on people to observe them for everyone’ benefit.  In this first section of the course, we’re going to look at the laws, policies, and procedures which affect the way you work; and we’ll consider who’s responsible for keeping people safe in your workplace.

2. Making Safety Count

Accidents and sudden illnesses can affect anyone at any time. In this section, we’ll look at some of the things you can do to help ensure the health and safety of everyone at your workplace This  includes what to do in an emergency situation, how to safely handle and administer medication, and how to spot the signs and symptoms of stress.

Test & Certificate

There will be one or two questions in between sections which are designed to reinforce learning and ensure maximum engagement but do not count towards the final test. This test usually has around 20 multiple choice questions and when passed, a printable certificate can be downloaded.
