A 10 minute Bitesize Self-Development Course

Gender Identity and Gender Expression are two different things. Gender Identity is someone’s personal and intimate sense of their own gender. Gender Expression is how they choose to reflect their gender identity in their physical appearance.   These days, this subject is very important, not just from the equality point-of-view but to ensure that everyone can feel comfortable with their work colleagues.

Gender Identity & Expression Course Content

1. The first section introduces gender identity and how people may use a “one size fits all” mentality when they should be far more open with people who they see as ‘different’. It covers what gender identity is, the importance of terminology and recognising that everyone has a their own way of being and there is no right or wrong way to “be”.
2. In this section we cover gender expression, including gender dysphoria, pronouns, transitioning and allyship and it will help staff to learn what they can do to show someone how they can be actively supportive.

Test & Certificate

There will be one or two questions in between sections which are designed to reinforce learning and ensure maximum engagement but do not count towards the final test. This test usually has around 20 multiple choice questions and when passed, a printable certificate can be downloaded.
