GDPR (UK) in Education

Many hundreds of data breaches at UK education establishments are reported annually to the Information Commissioners Office.  This course has been created for employees who are responsible for implementing or managing GDPR/Data Protection in the setting. It focuses on Children’s data and will give staff an understanding of their responsibilities for complying with data protection within an educational establishment. However, we would suggest that the full GDPR course is undertaken as well as this one.

GDPR in Education Course Content

1. The Law around processing Personal Data is important and anyone dealing with such data needs to be aware of what it covers. This section will give you an understanding of the background information about the GDPR, including what Personal Data and processing is, what controllers, processors and Data Subjects are.
2. GDPR is the legislation but there is a ‘spirit’ of the Regulations, about which it is important to be familiar. Following the Regulations is essential and failing to do so can result in some very harsh fines and so we set out the 7 Principles which you need to apply to keep data safely.

Test & Certificate

There will be one or two questions in between sections which are designed to reinforce learning and ensure maximum engagement but do not count towards the final test. This test usually has around 20 multiple choice questions and when passed, a printable certificate can be downloaded.
