Equality, diversity and inclusion is about treating people fairly and with respect, no matter what their differences may be.  It addresses unacceptable behaviour, stereotyping, victimisation and discrimination as well as introducing characteristics protected by The Equality Act – suggesting ways in which to build a more supportive, harmonious workplace.

Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Course Content

1. in the first section, we explore why treating people fairly and respectfully is a social and ethical responsibility and why it is so important. We will look at what the ideal workplace should look like and the practical part you can play in making it a reality.
2. We cover the barriers that may prevent us from creating the ideal workplace and how they can be avoided and resolved as well as looking at unacceptable behaviour such as bias, stereotyping, discrimination, harassment and victimisation.
3. In section three, we’ll introduce employees to the personal characteristics that are protected from discrimination, and we’ll offer advice on how to treat people fairly and with respect in relation to each characteristic.
4. In our final section, we will revisit the ideal workplace and we will touch on embracing and celebrating each others’ differences and the business advantages of having a diverse workforce that values its employees and has structures in place to support each person.

Test & Certificate

There will be one or two questions in between sections which are designed to reinforce learning and ensure maximum engagement but do not count towards the final test. This test usually has around 20 multiple choice questions and when passed, a printable certificate can be downloaded.
