DSEAR (Dangerous Substances & Explosive Atmospheres)

This course provides users with an understanding of the DSEAR Regulations whilst highlighting the responsibilities that they and their employers share. Dangerous substances are any substances used or present at work that may, if not controlled, cause harm and injury to people as a result of a fire or explosion and so it is crucial for anyone who may encounter these substances to be properly trained.

DSEAR Course Content

1. We will learn more about DSEAR and the regulations which are designed to protect people from dangerous substances and explosive atmospheres.
2. The responsibility for minimising risk is given to employers – but employees also have a role to play and so we look at the risk assessment steps in more detail, including what employers must do and what it means for employees.
3. Whilst there are no legal responsibilities on employees, they do still have certain ones, including taking reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of anyone else who might be affected by their work.

Test & Certificate

There will be one or two questions in between sections which are designed to reinforce learning and ensure maximum engagement but do not count towards the final test. This test usually has around 20 multiple choice questions and when passed, a printable certificate can be downloaded.
